Elderly residents terrified of new neighbor's "scary" doggo, but now they're best friends after learning that the only thing behind those fearsome features is love

We grew up around dogs, so we never even imagined being afraid of doggos. And not just any dogs, big dogs. Pawsitively enormous doggos that still think they are lap dogs when they are almost 100 pounds. We're talking bernese mountain dogs, huskies, and even a german shepherd or two. These gentle giants were our best friends growing up, and ever since then, we've loved every dog we've ever seen (even the tiny yappy ones).

All that being said, we understand people who are afraid of big dogs. They can look quite fearsome. But, if treated with care, you can see that they are all just cuddle bugs beneath those big jaws and paws. The story below is a pawfectly heartwarming example of that. A new resident moved in with his "scary" dog, and their elderly neighbors avoided them like a cat avoiding a bath. But then, they realized that their scary doggo just wanted some love, and soon their fearsome features weren't so scary anymore.

The first doggo we ever got as adults was a rescue pibble. Sweetest creature to ever walk the earth. She only wanted to plop down in your lap and lie there until your legs fell asleep. If you stopped rubbing her belly, she wouldn't move, but she would open her eyes and give you major side eye until you continued. We miss her every day.

These doggos get such a bad rap. We know many dogs much worse than them, but because they have such a history, they get the short end of the stick. Every pet of this breed we've ever met has just been the sweetest doggo. We would hands down get another one.
